How We Started
Since 1996, Joanna has built her accounting & tax practice serving small businesses and professionals in the Triangle area.
After a successful 13-year corporate financial management career, Joanna realized her dream of small business ownership with the purchase of an accounting franchise. Joanna began operations in Rocky Mount, NC as a sole proprietor, building the client base from scratch. The franchise path gave access to a proven system for write up, payroll, tax and business counseling services, marketing as well as a network of resources to assist with business development and client services.
In 2006, Joanna bought out the remainder of her franchise agreement and continued to grow the practice under the same proven systems and methods. An Enrolled Agent (EA) since 2006, Joanna is a federally licensed tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and is empowered by the US Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers for audits, collections and appeals before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service.
Carolina Accounting & Tax Solutions continues to operate on Joanna’s founding philosophy that small businesses are the backbone of the economy. Joanna leads her team based on her first hand experience as a small business owner and the lessons learned from her Fortune 50 corporate experience.
